Costa del Sol – Beaches
Ferries to Spain: ferriesspain.net he Costa del Sol is a region in the south of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, comprising the coastal towns and communities along the Mediterranean coastline of the Málaga province. The Costa del Sol is situated between two lesser known costas: Costa de la Luz and Costa Tropical. Formerly made up only of a series of small, quiet fishing settlements, the region has been completely transformed during the latter part of the 20th century into a tourist destination of world renown. It includes the city of Málaga, and the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara, Estepona, Manilva, Vélez-Málaga, Rincon de la Victoria, Nerja, Torrox, the community of Sotogrande, San Roque and La Línea de la Concepción. Settlement in the region dates back to the Bronze Age, and it has been colonised and ruled by many cultures such as the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Romans, Vandals, Visigoths and Moors, before the Reconquista. Historically its population lived in the fishing villages, and in the “white” villages a little distance inland, in the mountains running down to the coast. The area was discovered and developed to meet the demands of international tourism in the 1950s and has since been a popular destination for foreign tourists not only for its beaches but also for its local culture. @jjmmllrr ok thankyou, yes i am going to move to malaga to live their in about a year then, what is the weather like all year round? isit mostly sunny
because the main reason iv chosen andalucia instead of alacante is because apparently in alacante like 3 months of the year are chilly and too cold to even go in the pool which i dont want, but aparently andalucias one of the warmest in europe
@JordanDinstrumentals Bit of a late reply but..
I go to malaga every year and i enjoy it all the time I’ve always been in July till mid augaust and the weather was brilliant. I’ve also been in February skiing but that was in granada – Spain, I think, 16C And still piles of snow. But one year I went in October and we had a few days of rain, but their is still plenty to do, you’ll like it.
i went to Costa Del Sol last year, it was one of the most beautiful places i have ever seen
(although i found St Tropez in France beautiful also)
@RonixEnclave omg i love ff7. do you think its the best game ever made???
